Benefit Statements "Tell Them What It REALLY
Costs"
We know you strive to provide the best for your employees: competitive wages, a
solid core benefit block, and a safe work environment. As EFP clients, we
also know your willingness to search beyond traditional solutions to retain
employees and boost job satisfaction. However . . .
Do your employees know what we know about your
commitment?
Do they know about the battles with the carriers
to retain services?
Do they know about the lunches missed while your team reviews the plan summaries
from seven different vendors because you will only offer one?
Do your employees know that "the boss" actually
took a hit to freeze their rates for one more year?
EFP would like to suggest that you take a bold step
forward
and give the employees a fuller view of the benefits picture. One of the
most effective ways to demonstrate the real benefits picture is through the
distribution of Benefit Statements. Benefit Statements can
display virtually any aspect of an employees relationship with his/her employer.
EFP's experience with creating Benefit Statements for our clients shows
that employers wish to convey some basic items:
Employee deductions:
Although your employees receive pay stubs with the per paycheck deduction,
the Benefit Statement can show full benefit name, coverage tier and
coverage amount along with the deduction.
Employer contributions:
Yes, the family medical cost is $234 for the employee. But, it costs $543
for the employer! Placed side-by-side in columns, the visual will raise
both eyebrows and appreciation.
Remind employees of benefits for which they do
not pay: It differs for each
employer, but you have a benefit or two that deserves a higher profile.
Showcase these benefits in a Benefit Statement.
Hidden paycheck:
It is better to reveal than to conceal! Add up your employer contributions
(include paid leave, Social Security, etc.) and illustrate the true compensation
package for each of your employees.
Has the time arrived for your employees to get an
education? EFP has long been dedicated to servicing your employees.
Let us assist you in raising awareness and morale.
