2024 Voluntary Benefits Enrollment

Voluntary Benefits Enrollment has been extended to end on April 5, 2024 at 7:00 pm.  During the Voluntary Benefits Enrollment period, employees will have the opportunity to review the new voluntary benefits being offered through the City of Newport News and make voluntary benefits elections.  The effective date for all elected voluntary benefits will be May 1, 2024.  Payroll deductions for elected benefits will be reflected on your May 3, 2024 paycheck.

Voluntary Benefits include:

• Trustmark Accident Insurance
• Trustmark Critical HealthEvents (Critical Illness Insurance)
• Trustmark Hospital StayPay (Hospital Indemnity Insurance)
• Chubb Life Time Benefit Term (a Life Time Benefit Term policy with Long Term Care coverage)

The City of Newport News has partnered with Employee Family Protection (EFP) to assist employees with reviewing the benefit plan options, verifying eligible dependents, and enrolling in the new voluntary benefit programs.

Employees will be able to enroll by:

• Scheduling a telephonic benefits consultation
• Making Voluntary Benefit Elections online on their own - https://trustmark.benselect.com/NewportNews

Please ensure you have all materials ready for your scheduled appointment.  Eligible dependent information including date of birth and beneficiary information will be required to enroll dependents.

To schedule a telephonic consultation:

1. If you desire a phone consultation, please select the Benefit Service Center as your Enrollment Location. 
2. Select the date and time you are available to meet. 
3. Complete the registration process.
4. Finalize your appointment.
5. A confirmation will be sent to the email address provided providing the phone number for your appointment telephonic consultation.

To cancel an appointment:

1. Please email pjohnson@efpnow.com with your request for cancellation.
2. Confirmation of your cancellation will be sent from the system.
